Change management or better: Managing Change

Changing habits is one of the toughest things to do - which you know from your own everyday experience. It means leaving your comfort zone, approaching the unknown, taking chances and accepting risks ...

This is fully identical in business or in private life.
A busines restructuring is the same as restructuring your life once a chronic or severe disease is diagnosed.

Changing habits of a whole organisation is a task for leaders. Especially when it comes to the biggest number of people in a company, having the same job: the field force.

It is about participative leadership, creating deep insights and individual experience. It works and it can work fast. You must leverage well researched rules of change, which sometimes sound academic, but reveal their power if applied.

Innov8 will support you learning and applying rules of change.

Change: a very human sequence

The illustration stands for change affecting human beings: not matter if it is in business or private life or becoming a patient.

The steps human beings go through facing a significant change in life are the same in any case of cange.
It might be losing the job. It happens very similarly when one is confronted with a severe medical diagnosis:

  1. Shock
You feel delivered, extradited and helpless - no competency (= y-axis)
  2. Refusal
or rejection of the cause will follow
Colleagues will sit together and discuss about those "senior managers who are ruining the company with such a "blood shed!" or the diagnosis "which can only be wrong!"
  3. Rationally
    one starts to understand

Ratio is first: this is different from the rest of our life. Those conerned or aggrieved will start to rationalize / understand the "business decision" or the "diagnosis".
  4. Emotions, feelings
    are following ratio:
"There always is something good to ..."
People start emotionally accepting the new situation.
  5. Learning
to live with and up to ...
Those concerned start coping with and agreeing to the new situation
  6. The new reality
    becomes part of daily life
  7. The novel situation
was new in the past and now is an integral part of my life

Done - Achieved - Changed - Implemented
